Purpose
To help determine how strongly beer television commercials
impact middle-school and high school students in the
industries attempt to reach underage drinkers.
Survey
1. The school
reproduced the one-page survey and distributed it to
students on the Monday after the Super Bowl (February 8,
2010).
2. Studednts filled
out the survey and return them on Monday (February 8,
2010)
3. Surveys were
tabulated and results fax the to the Drug Alliance by
Tuesday noon EST. (February 9, 2010)
4. The Drug Alliance
tabulated all surveys from around the country, produced a
press release, and distributed it to national media on
Wednesday (February 10, 2010).
5.
TheCitizensWhoCare.org prepared a local
press release
with local additions and distributed it to The Pilot
and KURY radio by Thursday. (February 11,
2010)
Super
Bowl 2010 Commercials
Interesting
points:
- 232 6-8th grade
Azalea Middle School students participated the 2010
Drug-Free Actional Alliance Super Bowl Survey, given on
the Monday after the Super Bowl, February 8th.
- 134 students
reported watching the Super Bowl (55 girls, 58 boys and
21 who didn't self-identify). 98 students reported that
they did not watch the Super Bowl (52 girls, 36 boys, and
10 who didn't self-identify.)
- Dorito commercials
were recalled 132 times, Budweiser 100 times and Internet
Companies a distant 3rd at 32 recalls.
